Mrs. Starr teaches 9th grade Bible, Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 Honors, Geometry and Honors Geometry. Roni is a golden nugget & we appreciate her so much. Her Marvel Comics classroom is a wonder to behold!

Mrs. Starr strives to live life to the fullest. She is an extreme thrill seeker, but can also find excitement in everyday activities from trying to photobomb stranger’s photos to pretending a super villain is chasing her and her daughter through the grocery store. In addition to skydiving, hangliding, repelling, ziplining, running races, and tornado chasing, she has added teaching high school math to her daredevil activities.

SJCA has been a blessing and needed change from her career of teaching in public schools. When she dropped her daughter off at the Elementary School in February of 2015 after moving here from Tennessee, she could feel the family atmosphere and love of Christ in the air. Since beginning her career at San Jacinto this year, Roni has felt that same family and love of Christ at a whole new level. Her students and coworkers are so friendly and respectful which makes coming to work every day a joy! One of her favorite experiences is knowing her students are starting to pick up her “southern Tennessee twang” by watching and listening to her flipped classroom videos.

A little Tennessee has come to Texas!
