Actress, Janine Turner, wrote a book named Constituting America @ co-founded a campaign with the same name.  Janine is a dear friend of one of our teachers & she jumped at the chance to speak to our students about the importance of the Constitution.

She did two live sessions, one for elementary and one for the middle school students.  She also sent TONS of materials for the kids including: books, CD’s, posters, teaching resources, Constitution playing cards, shirts, and bracelets.  Not to mention, each student received a folder with a pocket Constitution, American flag, sticker, pencil, and loads of information!

Check out their website: for more information!

Special thanks to Janine for taking the time to speak to SJCA, her publicist, Jeanette Kraynak, and tech guru, Bobby, for all of their efforts in coordinating the Skype call.  Also, we appreciate Mrs. Cochran for spending countless hours prepping for the live chat so that the students would be able to interact with Janine.

The 6th graders recently watch her movie, Maggie’s Passage, and highly recommend it!
