The SJCA choir brought home Sweepstakes, 1st Division Performance.  There were 8 middle school soloists and two ensembles that performed Thursday morning in front of a judge.  We bought home six 1’s and two Outstanding awards by Morgan Turner and Gracen Cunningham.  Outstanding is above and beyond what is expected of a Superior Performance!  We also had a 6-7th grade ensemble of four boys who brought home a 1 as well and a 7-8 grade girls ensemble of five SanJac girls who brought home a 1; both pieces were done a cappella.

The high school choir also did extremely well.  They brought home Sweepstakes as a choir, and brought home lots of medals for the soloists.  Twelve students performed before a judge with their solo.  Six of those received Outstanding ratings: Hayden Cunningham, Matthew Turner, Gabby Papp, Tanna Schley, Porsche Driver, and Josh Stephenson.  We had four Class 1 ratings, and two Class 2 ratings.

Out of all the solos that each judge listens to over the course of three days, the judge chooses their most outstanding performance.  Matthew Turner received that honor with his German solo, Der Neugierige by Schubert. This is an extremely HIGH honor.

In Orchestra, Laramie Snow received outstanding, Julian Uy received outstanding, Mallory Grimm received a one.  Mallory and Laramie also did a duet and received outstanding.

We are so proud of each and every student that performed.  They let their light shine and were such a huge blessing to those who heard them perform.
